The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of economic sanctions and export control laws and regulations as well as the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject-matter expertise and support related to OFAC/EU/OFSI sanctions programs, as well as U.S. and EU export control laws and regulations.

    • Draft memoranda for clients detailing risk and mitigation measures.
    • Work with staff, reviewing deliverables to ensure work quality and completion, while providing ongoing feedback.

  • Track emerging issues and new developments on topics related to sanctions and export controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve and develop new processes and to ensure efforts are efficient and synchronized across all channels.
  • Use a high level of independent judgment to solve problems, escalating issues to senior management as necessary.
  • Cultivate relationships with new and existing clients for continued business development.
  • Support client engagement and business development efforts.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to team members in refining professional skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, juris doctorate or master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years of professional experience in sanctions compliance and policy at a law firm or financial institution.
  • Advanced knowledge of BSA/AML, OFAC, USA PATRIOT Act, and export control regulatory and compliance issues associated with financial institutions and multinational corporations.
