In “Industrial Espionage, Techniques, and Most Notorious Cases” (Muy Interesante, 23 Feb. 2016), an article reviewing the evolution of the techniques used throughout history to find out the secrets of the competition, K2 Intelligence executive managing director Bruce Goslin clarifies that industrial espionage should not be confused with competitive intelligence. “[Competitive intelligence] means looking at your competitors, analyzing the environment and detecting new regulations or market developments, and it is completely legal.”
