The article “Journalists Talk ‘Big Data’ at Investigative Reporting Symposium” (The Daily Californian, 26 Apr. 2014) recapped the annual Logan Symposium, an annual event hosted by UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism’s Investigative Reporting Program. K2 Intelligence President and CEO Jeremy Kroll appeared on a panel on data analytics at the symposium. Along with fellow panelists David Donald (Center for Public Integrity) and Jennifer LaFleur (Center for Investigative Reporting), Jeremy discussed practical approaches to extracting and presenting narratives derived from large, complex data sets. He commented, “Teasing narratives out of big data is the ultimate goal for journalists and data analysts alike.”
