Lindsay Nicholls is an associate managing director at K2 Integrity in London. With more than a decade of investigations experience in both the public and private sector, she helps clients across industries with matters including anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing, anti-bribery and corruption (ABC), market abuse, insider threat and whistleblowing and conduct investigations.
Before joining K2 Integrity, Lindsay was vice president of intelligence development and investigations for Barclays Bank. In this role, she led complex, global financial crime investigations across a range of business units and jurisdictions; devised strategic and methodical approaches to tackling various financial crime threats, identified systems and controls failures; and advised senior stakeholders with regard to financial crime risk management. Lindsay was responsible for the design and implementation of financial crime training programs and advised business units of AML red flags and emerging threats. She was also a member of the Joint Money Laundering Intelligence Taskforce (JMLIT), interfacing with both financial institutions and law enforcement to combat current and emerging financial crime and terrorist financing threats.
Prior to her role at Barclays Bank, Lindsay served as an investigations manager within the Sensitive Investigations Unit at the Royal Bank of Scotland, where she had a multijurisdictional, bankwide remit to advise, direct, and perform sensitive investigations. Lindsay implemented strategic approaches to investigating a range of issues such as ABC, market abuse, insider threat, and information leaks, advising bank executives and external parties, including regulators, of relevant investigative findings and resolution recommendations.
Lindsay started her career at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office as an investigative officer. She was responsible for managing complex and sensitive investigations into counterterrorism, providing case updates, strategy proposals, and impact assessments to senior government officials, while working alongside both domestic and international partners to assess risk and resolve national and international security threats.
Lindsay received her B.A. in social and cultural studies in sport from Sheffield Hallam University.
