Biography

Dr. Timothy P. Hedley is a senior advisor to K2 Integrity. With more than 25 years of experience, Tim provides clients with a wide range of forensic services to assist with the  prevention, detection, and response to governance and integrity issues. He works with companies to respond to allegations of fraud or misconduct involving earnings management, bribery, corruption, and kickbacks, counterfeiting, construction fraud, Ponzi schemes, and employee theft.

Tim has extensive experience across industries—including in the automotive, retail, food and beverage, consumer products, manufacturing, financial services, information services, utilities, defense, waste, energy, and telecommunications sectors—and has built methodologies and tools to assess anti-fraud program effectiveness and corporate compliance, benchmark anti-fraud and compliance efforts against recognized industry practices, establish baseline key performance indicators to monitor progress, and conduct fraud awareness and compliance training programs.

Prior to his work with K2 Integrity, Tim was a forensic practice partner at KPMG, where he served as global lead for the firm’s fraud risk management service offerings. He coordinated detailed internal audit testing of identified fraud, compliance, and integrity risk areas, including, among other areas, cash, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), conflicts of interest, equal treatment, and anti-trust. He also worked on the firm’s efforts to build a model ethics and compliance program. This service included serving on the firm’s Legal and Compliance Committee and chairing the firm’s Code of Conduct and Investigative Process Enhancement taskforces.

Tim is an adjunct faculty member at Fordham University, where he teaches “Business Risk in a Global, Digital Economy.” In addition to authoring numerous articles, he is co-author of the books The New Era of Regulatory Enforcement: A Comprehensive Guide for Raising the Bar to Manage Risk and Managing the Risk of Fraud and Misconduct: Meeting the Challenges of a Global, Regulated and Digital Environment, both published by McGraw-Hill. Tim is a frequent speaker on fraud risk and a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He also serves as a board member and treasurer of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA).

He holds a Ph.D. in public management with a focus on accounting and control and an M.S. in accounting from the State University of New York at Albany and a B.B.A. in accounting from Sienna College. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CT, NY, and MD), is Certified in Financial Forensics, and is a Certified Fraud Examiner.
