No sector of the economy has changed as much in the last four years as the defense sector. Before the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2021, the ESG criteria adopted by many banks and funds made it difficult for investors to consider many companies in the sector. Since 2021, however, defense stocks have soared in value and countries around Europe have announced massive packages of investment in defense over the next decade. The idea that defense is a sector incompatible with ethical investing has also been reexamined, with some now arguing that investments in the sector are vital to the preservation of democracy in Europe.
Join us for an upcoming webinar where we will examine why these huge changes have occurred, how the geopolitical context is likely to develop, and what this means for investors contemplating investment in defense and related areas. How is the defense sector likely to change in the future, and what are the risks and opportunities that investors should be considering?
You’ll hear from Jason Wright, senior managing director in the Investigations and Disputes practice at K2 Integrity, and two eminent guests: Air Chief Marshal Sir Mike Wigston, KCB, CBE, former head of the Royal Air Force; and Sir Mark Lyall Grant, GCMG, former National Security Adviser to the British government.
