Andrew Whelan is a managing director in K2 Integrity’s Investigations and Disputes practice, based in London, with more than two decades of experience conducting complex multijurisdictional investigations and intelligence gathering across a diverse range of sectors, industries, and geographies. Andrew works with governments and sovereign wealth funds, banks and asset managers, high-net-worth individuals, law firms, corporations, and sports organizations on matters ranging from pre-investment due diligence to large-scale investigations into fraud, corruption, bribery, and malpractice.
Previously, Andrew was head of investigations at a global investigations firm, where he led a senior team and oversaw complex and global investigations, often in relation to disputes, whistleblowing reports, and allegations of fraud, bribery, and corruption. He also established and grew the firm’s sports practice, working with industry clients including sports clubs, governing bodies, federations, athletes, law firms, and investors.
Prior to joining K2 Integrity, Andrew was partner at an investigations consultancy, where he led the execution of enhanced due diligence, investigations and business intelligence projects for investment and legal professionals and business leaders globally.
Andrew began his career as an intelligence consultant at K2 Intelligence (now K2 Integrity). Before that, he was an award-winning investigative reporter, latterly at The Mail on Sunday, the UK’s biggest-selling Sunday newspaper.
Andrew received an M.A. in history from the University of Warwick and a B.A. in history (Hons.) from the University of Kent.
