Joshua Bertrand is a senior security consultant with K2 Integrity/Leviathan Security Group, where he leads and executes complex security engagements across network, systems, and application domains. His work spans network and systems-level penetration testing, security architecture advisory, and both black‑ and white‑box application assessments. Drawing on a broad and technically rigorous background, he develops internal tools, testing methodologies, and proof‑of‑concept demonstrations that support client projects. His ability to innovate under pressure and adapt to evolving technical requirements has positioned him as a leader within multidisciplinary project teams.
Before entering the private sector, Josh served as an NSA Computer Network Operations (CNO) Operator conducting cyber warfare operations in support of United States Cyber Command. In that role, he executed 173 operations, leveraging advanced toolsets to access target networks and collect intelligence aligned with military objectives. His responsibilities included malware investigation, digital forensics, and identifying persistence and functionality mechanisms within compromised systems. He routinely devised technical solutions in real time to address operational challenges and conducted risk assessments to determine optimal courses of action for mission success.
Josh holds a B.S. in computer science from Western Governors University and maintains multiple professional certifications, including NSA Certified Operator, GIAC Exploit Researcher and Advanced Penetration Tester (GXPN), GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN), GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA), and CompTIA Security+.
