Susan E. Lewis is a senior director in K2 Integrity’s Financial Crimes Compliance practice. Susan provides advisory services to financial institutions to reduce risks related to potential money laundering matters and improve her clients’ ability to meet regulatory requirements. Susan specializes in managing complex Anti-Money Laundering (AML) projects, compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations, and fraud investigations. She works with clients to run quality assurance assessments of customer transactions to investigate suspicious patterns and prepare the filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
Prior to joining K2 Integrity, Susan was a client manager at HSBC in its new business onboarding practice, where she was responsible for the development of streamlined procedures and the launch of the KYC global framework across all functions. She also managed all aspects of client onboardings across HSBC’s legal, compliance, credit, and operations departments. Susan was also a team leader in HSBC’s global banking due diligence practice, where she managed a team that delivered enhanced client due diligence standards consistent with the firm’s AML and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) policies, procedures, and practices.
Before HSBC, Susan was an associate with Goldman Sachs in its middle office, fixed-income securities lending practice, where she ensured adherence to all regulatory requirements; identified, researched, and reconciled trade breaks, settlement, and balancing issues; and engaged in trade volume reporting.
Susan received her B.S. in healthcare administration from St. John’s University. She has her National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) Series 7, 24, and 63 licenses. She is a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) registered representative and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).
