Marti McDonald is an associate managing director in K2 Integrity’s Financial Crimes Risk Management practice. With more than 15 years of global experience in program management, corporate risk, internal audit, and regulatory compliance, Marti advises financial services clients on enhancing financial crime compliance programs to meet U.S. and international requirements, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) obligations.
Before joining K2 Integrity, Marti was senior lead financial crimes officer at Wells Fargo, where she directed international financial crimes risk management teams through projects and processes needed to maintain compliance with corporate policies and U.S. and international laws and regulations to conduct effective anti-money laundering/counter-terrorist financing (AML/CTF) and sanctions programs across 17 different countries. She oversaw the development of risk assessment tools, coordinated global policy implementation, led remediation efforts for audits and regulatory exams, and managed training programs tailored to international regulatory requirements. Marti also led international teams through the development and implementation of international specific key performance metrics as part of Wells Fargo’s risk and control self-assessment (RCSA).
Earlier in her career, Marti served as audit manager and senior lead auditor at Wells Fargo, managing large-scale audit engagements and regulatory consent order validations. She began her career as a national bank examiner with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), where she assessed credit risk, compliance, and governance for financial institutions. Marti also worked as an internal auditor at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (now Oxy), focusing on financial and operational audits.
Marti holds a B.S.B.A. in accounting and finance, with a minor in economics, from the University of Nebraska. She is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
