Patrick J. Brosnan served as an NYPD Detective in the Robbery, Narcotics, and Gun squads in the South Bronx and Harlem for 14 years. His exceptional investigative abilities resulted in the apprehension of over 900 violent criminals. Due to his tireless work combating crime, the Governor of New York dubbed him a “one-man war on crime in New York City” and he was named the New York State Police Officer of the Year, becoming the first officer in NYPD history to receive this prestigious honor. Patrick was injured in the line of duty, which led to his retirement in 1996.
After his retirement from the NYPD, Patrick founded Brosnan Risk Consultants. Leveraging his extensive experience in fraud detection and prosecution, he grew Brosnan Risk Consultants from a one-man operation into a nationally recognized security and investigations firm employing 5,000 people, with operations spanning over 500 cities across 43 states. In 2024, Patrick sold the company to Allied Universal, the largest security firm in the world.
Patrick’s insight and leadership in process and technology innovation led him to become an inventor of record for the Brosnan Smart Security Solution (U.S. Patent 10,311,692 B2), an industry-differentiating model for risk mitigation through the swift dissemination of actionable intelligence to investigators in the field.
Patrick also spearheaded the Brosnan Cares program, devoting resources to give back to the country, local communities, and employees. This includes the Save a Child initiative, a public/private partnership that harnessed the synergy of Patrick’s various capabilities to rescue and recover children before they fell victim to predatory trafficking and sexual exploitation.
Patrick holds a B.A. in English and an M.S. in criminal justice. He presently serves as a security analyst on Fox News, Fox Business, Newsmax, and a wide range of other platforms.
Patrick is a subject-matter expert on topics that include terrorism, active shooter, and major criminal investigations and has authored numerous articles in the national media on a wide range of public safety subjects.
