Rhylette Brantley is a director in K2 Integrity’s Financial Crimes Risk Management practice. With more than 15 years of experience working in financial advisory services, including anti-money laundering (AML) and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) compliance, financial investigations, and fraud risk management compliance, she helps financial institutions adhere to regulatory consent orders that mandate transaction monitoring lookbacks, quality assurance (QA) reviews, and enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews.
Prior to joining K2 Integrity, Rhylette was an associate vice president, global operations manager, in Bank of America’s Global Corporate and Investment Banking department, where she managed a team of senior analysts and officers conducting client due diligence (CDD) and enhanced client due diligence (ECDD) in accordance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. She ensured the review of refresh requirements for assigned jurisdictions in line with client identification profile (CIP)/CDD procedures to ensure adequacy and accuracy, and supported analysts consulting with sales/client outreach teams to obtain and validate correct documentation to fulfill refresh requirements.
Before her time at Bank of America, Rhylette worked as a manager at K2 Intelligence (now K2 Integrity), where she conducted AML lookback reviews, correspondent banking activity analysis, and transaction monitoring using common case management software such as NICE Actimize and Fiserv’s FCRM platform.
Rhylette also worked for Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. as an associate director in the firm’s monitoring and investigations division. In that role, she prepared suspicious activity reports (SARs) and reviewed alerts generated from an internal AML transaction monitoring system. These alerts included, among others, excessive movement of funds, high-risk jurisdictions, and politically exposed persons (PEPs). Rhylette recommended appropriate follow-up and possible actions for clients that exceeded the firm’s risk tolerance. Rhylette began her career as a financial crimes investigator at Wells Fargo, where she researched and analyzed customer account transactions to detect unusual activity involving money laundering and/or fraud.
Rhylette has a B.A. in sociology from Bloomfield College, with a concentration in criminal justice. She is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).
