Steve Pak is a director at K2 Integrity, where he applies his deep expertise in building and operating production-grade batch data processing systems, scalable data pipelines, and data quality frameworks to architect client-tailored solutions that enable the firm’s diverse teams to efficiently serve the complex needs of its clients. A data engineering leader, Steve works with clients to identify and mitigate financial crime risks, manage change, and support compliant business growth.
Prior to joining K2 Integrity, Steve served as data engineering manager and head of data platform at BARK, where he managed complex data systems across engineering, product, and business functions. He oversaw 138 production Airflow DAGs spanning API ingestion, change data capture pipelines, dbt transformation, financial reporting, data quality monitoring, and machine learning workflows. Steve led an enterprise-wide migration from a legacy AWS Redshift environment to a modern data stack on Google Cloud Platform, delivering hundreds production dbt models across more than 30 source systems with zero downtime, while reducing warehouse run rates and dashboard latency.
Steve also championed data privacy and security across data initiatives, including IAM governance, column-level access controls, role-based access management, and SOX ITGC compliance with audit walkthroughs.
Earlier in his career, Steve held roles as a data engineer and data analyst at BARK, where he built production ETL pipelines across more than 30 source systems, developed reusable Airflow infrastructure, and helped deliver fulfillment cost savings through operational workflow redesign. He previously served as a business intelligence analyst at Transfix, where his analysis supported sales process transformation, revenue growth, margin improvement, and executive performance reporting.
Steve’s technical expertise spans Apache Airflow, dbt, BigQuery, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Terraform, SQL, Python, Looker, Tableau, and data observability and governance tools. He earned a B.S. in finance, cum laude, from St. John’s University.
