Tom Overbey is a senior security risk advisor and team lead for K2 Integrity/Leviathan Security Group. He works with clients to understand their security risk maturity and response agility, identify how to close their vulnerability gaps, and reduce their overall risk. Tom’s expertise has been developed around the strategy and deployment of tabletop exercises by leveraging his experience designing real-world scenarios to test both targeted and enterprise security goals. In addition to incident response planning, readiness, and resilience, Tom provides expert advice as a VISO for various clients in the specialties of strategy, compliance, and operational management.
Prior to joining the K2 Integrity/Leviathan team, Tom was a lead and technical consultant for IBM. He has worked with and for a variety of defense and federal civilian agencies as a trusted advisor to his clients, as well as an advisor to emerging businesses within the defense industry under the DoD Mentor Protégé Program. During this time, Tom provided guidance in the development and maturation of unique solutions for service branches and supporting agencies within the DoD. Combining multiple technical and traditional disciplines, he has supported high-profile projects and programs for the development of bleeding-edge technologies within the defense space.
Tom holds a B.S. in computer information systems from Towson State University.
