Neil Wilson is a managing director in K2 Integrity’s Private Client Services practice, based in London. With more than 20 years of experience in IT operations and security, he leverages his in-depth knowledge of complex, high-profile, government-level security infrastructure systems to support the day-to-day business and personal activities of high-net-worth individuals and their families. Most recently Neil served as head of IT operations for the United Kingdom’s Royal Household, where he provided leadership and mission-critical service and support to senior stakeholders, key officials, and members of the royal family for almost two decades.
Neil has both public and private sector experience developing and executing strategic IT security plans through the implementation of new technologies, and the performance of ongoing risk assessments as well as governance and compliance reviews. His experience running large IT service networks has given Neil insight into the often-competing demands of business strategy and a constantly evolving security environment. He also understands the unique security concerns and sensitivities faced by high-profile clients, who must navigate between public and private life while trying to protect their reputation, assets, and family. As a result, he is able to work with clients to design and implement IT security protocols that balance flexibility and business continuity, allowing high-profile clients to attend public events, travel internationally, and meet with business partners, clients, and members of the public, all while controlling and mitigating the inherent risks.
Neil was appointed LVO to the Royal Victorian Order, an honor that recognizes distinguished personal service to HM Queen Elizabeth II. He has held the highest level of UK Government security clearance as well as obtaining Cyber Essentials Plus certification, a UK government program run by the National Cyber Security Centre that provides best practices for cybersecurity frameworks and controls.
Prior to joining K2 Integrity, Neil served as the head of IT operations for the Royal Household at Buckingham Palace. Earlier in his career, he managed IT infrastructure and service requirements for Magna Kansei Ltd, an automotive manufacturer.
Neil received his M.B.A. from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and his B.Sc. in computer science from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (ISC2 CISSP), a Certified Cloud Security Professional (ISC2 CCSP) and has his CSA Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (Cloud Security Alliance CCSK).
