Anthony Catinella is a director in the Financial Crimes Risk Management practice at K2 Integrity. With a focus on anti-money laundering (AML) compliance, Anthony specializes in transaction monitoring, know your customer (KYC), and customer due diligence (CDD) activities. Anthony works with K2 Integrity’s financial institution clients to perform historical and/or business-as-usual (BAU) transaction monitoring investigations by evaluating alerted transaction activity to determine if a suspicious activity report (SAR) filing may be warranted. He analyzes transaction activity, conducts research on transacting parties, and drafts an investigative report detailing the outcome of the analysis.
Before joining K2 Integrity, Anthony worked as a compliance associate at JP Morgan Chase & Co., where he collaborated with the firm’s Global Financial Crimes Compliance and Advisory businesses, among others, to analyze emerging and trending regulatory compliance risks and implement appropriate controls. While at JP Morgan Chase, Anthony also performed transaction monitoring reviews by collecting and analyzing metrics and customer information including alert, investigation, or SAR history; KYC information; and relevant account and transaction data. He would then summarize this information, assess whether there was reasonable cause to escalate an alert, draft the disposition and rationale, and document the investigation process.
Anthony received an M.B.A. from the Iona College Hagan School of Business, and a B.B.A., cum laude, in marketing from the same institution. He is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).
