Latino Leaders magazine featured K2 Integrity’s Juan Zarate in its annual “Latinos on Boards” edition (May/June 2026). The profile highlights Juan’s leadership at the intersection of national security, financial integrity, corporate governance, and emerging technology.
Juan, who is also co-founder and chair of Consilient, lead independent director at Northwestern Mutual, and a board member of Guardian Space Technology Solutions and the National Endowment for Democracy, was recognized for the breadth of his board service and his perspective on how directors can help organizations navigate complex and layered risk.
In discussing what makes boards effective in periods of uncertainty, Juan emphasized the importance of early, rigorous inquiry: “The boards that are most effective at getting ahead of crises are those that are starting to ask hard questions early on.” Juan also underscored the need to move the conversation on board diversity beyond representation alone, noting that Latino leaders “represent and contribute real value” through their market knowledge, international experience, governance capabilities, and strategic insight.
