Hannah Somerville is a director in K2 Integrity’s Investigations and Disputes practice, based in London. She conducts multilingual research to assist in cross-jurisdictional investigative and due diligence work for clients such as law firms, banks, corporations, and government bodies, to identify and investigate fraud, waste, and abuse.
Prior to joining K2 Integrity, Hannah worked as editor of the English arm of IranWire, a multilingual news and features website focused on Iran, where she researched, wrote, and edited articles on topics such as internal governance, corruption, cybersecurity, sanctions, regional proxies, and international arbitration. Before that, she was a specialist investigative reporter for Archant’s London newspapers. In this role she researched and published a range of high-stakes investigative reports on matters including alleged fraud, dubious investment schemes spanning continents, historic money laundering, offshore-owned properties, and misuses of the UK corporate register.
Hannah has an M.A. in Arabic literature from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), and a B.A. in Arabic and Spanish from the University of Leeds. She was awarded the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) level 5 national qualification in journalism and the NCTJ level 3 diploma in journalism. She speaks near-fluent Spanish, upper-intermediate MSA Arabic and Egyptian colloquial, and basic Persian.
