Michael Quevedo is a director in K2 Integrity’s Investigations and Disputes practice and part of its financial investigations and forensic accounting team. Working with clients in both the private and public sectors, Mike plays a key role in financial investigations, litigation support engagements, and integrity monitorships for major construction projects. He performs anti-money laundering (AML) risk assessment evaluations and conducts due diligence for major financial institutions. Mike is also involved in forensic audits and cases involving anti-bribery and corruption (ABAC), using data analytics to identify trends and anomalies.
Before joining K2 Integrity, Mike was a financial analyst at KPMG, directly supporting the audit practice CFO. Using a variety of data analysis software, he consolidated financial data and other critical metrics providing accurate and synthesized information that drove decision-making for practice leadership. He also served as a dedicated analyst for a specific business unit, reporting on its business health and performance.
Mike began his career as a senior assurance associate at RSM US LLP in its commercial practice. He was involved in all areas of an audit, leading the planning of engagements and performing ratio analysis to identify and inquire upon trends in the client’s business. Mike worked with clients across industries, including small local textile businesses, a global construction firm, and a large accelerated publicly traded chemical company. His SEC experience included evaluating clients’ internal control structures in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and involvement with PCAOB inspections.
Mike received his B.B.A. in accounting from James Madison University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), licensed in New York and New Jersey, and is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
